The next main part of my project I need to do is to find credible sources which are appropriate for my topic. I need a wide range of sources; primary and secondary.
To begin with I foresee that finding primary sources to do with Greek Temples will be hard without going to Greece. In addition to this finding sources about how the process of design for the Temples will be hard as there are not many documents still around or found about this which are widely available.
The other day I had a talk from one of the people who help in our college resource centre. The talk was about how to use the internet and the college learning resource centre (LRC) effectively to find sources and information. This was very useful as I had not really needed to use the LRC for college work apart from as a quiet place to work. I learnt that the college subscribe to a number of magazines and databases which maybe helpful for my research, such as Jstor. I addition to this she talked briefly about how to reference sources within our writing, this will come in handy later when I write my accompanying report.
For my first source I think that I will use one of the books which I have at home called "Civilizations of the Ancient World" this book contains information about many ancient civilisations such as the Egyptians and Romans as well as the Greeks. I think that this will be a good first source because I already have it so it gives me time to find other sources whilst being able to start my research. I addition the book was edited by a Professor Dominic Rathbone who works as a Professor of Ancient History at Kings College London and therefore the book is a reliable source.
